Statement by Kenyan Ambassador in Riyadh about the Kenyan girl locked up in Saudi Arabia.

“Good afternoon, On the matter of Dianna Chepkemoi.
1. We already took action. First as you very well know even your Labor attaché doesn’t know which Kenyan domestic worker is deployed where. When we heard about this case we as usual quickly followed up and got the employer .

2. Demanded that the lady be taken to hospital for treatment and assessment. Waiting to see the medical report tomorrow..,for further action…

3. A physical visit to the hospital is arranged to ascertain her health condition

4. Raised the matter with min of labor and the Govn’ s office.
.
5. Await the medical assessment if able to fly..

5. Awaiting her exit visa processing …

Finally I hope you have been able to second a Senior labor officer to MFA in order to engender coordination amongst the Kenyan recruitment agencies, their Saudi or wherever counterparts and your Labor attachés in Kenya’s mission abroad where there are Kenyan migrant workers ,and especially when such cases arise.
Regards. Amb Ogego, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia”
